Summers at Golan’s, A Reflection

Filed under: Blog — Tags: — admin @ 12:21 pm

As one of the larger Chicago movers, Golan’s Moving is an eventful place from April to September. Not to say we close our doors outside of these months, but the main moving season is in the summer. During that time, our office and warehouse are in a constant state of activity on any given day. .

A busy day for us usually resembles something like this: Our office personnel work the phones speaking to current & potential customers outlining our local and long distance moving service. Also, we begin to look ahead to the rest of the week, contacting customers to confirm their Chicago and suburban moves and to address important last minute matters. Our outside estimators travel the region meeting with customers negotiating deals. Long distance dispatchers discuss arrival times for our long distance trucks and movers. Our local dispatchers monitor the status of our Chicagoland movers and trucks which are typically in use from sunup to sundown. These components, provide the foundation of our company, which has a 20 year history of providing honest, reliable moving and storage service.

My first summer with Golans was in 1995. I can still remember counting on one hand the trucks and foreman we would need for a busy day. Back then, the culture of the company was to provide a quality moving service at a reasonable price. Today, we have more trucks and more men, but the culture has not changed. Every employee works hard to ensure that our customers experience a timely, reliable service. “Thank you for choosing Golan’s moving and Storage.”
